Tickets to Sheeran’s last concert in Singapore in November last year were sold out within an hour. A second show was later added, although fans complained that touts snapped up tickets and resold them at double or even triple their original prices.

The Sports Hub said on its website that it will take steps to prevent touts from snapping up tickets and reselling them at “absurd prices”.

Each Sports Hub Tix account holder will be limited to a maximum number of four tickets, and no multiple transactions under the same account will be allowed.

Tickets to Sheeran’s concert will also be sold with the name of the purchaser printed on them, it said. Concertgoers may be required to show a photo ID that matches the name on the ticket to gain admission.

“This stops secondary sites and ticket touts being able to resell tickets at inflated prices and ripping off fans,” Sports Hub said.
